Colonial Office would be grateful for early recipt of best
estimate you can give of Revenue and expenditure 1st April, 1946 to 31st March, 1947. For this purpose cost of administration during
period of military administration can be ignored.
As begards extent of subsidising foodstuffs, the question
will have to be considered in the light of your recommendations
based on knowledge of local conditiinns. A provisional figure
should be included in the above estimates for this purpose, and
should be stated in your reply.
